As a therapist and a mom, I know how overwhelming it can be to raise a child these days.  Between family pressures, personal expectations and an overwhelming amount of parenting information on the internet it’s no wonder parents often feel confused about how to help their children.

Parent Coaching provides an opportunity for parents to seek advice about a specific topic of interest from a professional who is not emotionally involved in the situation.

Parent Coaching can be useful in a number of situations, including:

  • Communication concerns
  • Different parenting styles
  • Sibling rivalry
  • Feeling unsure or lacking confidence in your parenting ability
  • Too much yelling (parents and children)
  • Feeling unsupported as a parent
  • A general desire to be a “better” parent

Unlike traditional therapy, Parent Coaching is very brief (3-5 sessions) and highly focused on one specific area of concern, for example, “My children and I are always yelling at each other”.

Accessing Parenting Coaching means that you are given advice that is specific and relevant to your family’s unique situation, rather than information that has been generalized to fit numerous situations.

Alternatively, if your child is struggling with stress and anxiety or has recently been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, Parent Coaching can be used to help you understand the struggles your child is facing and how to best offer help and support.
